About Success In Ministry
My first venture into ministry was in 1976. I began having a weekly children's workshop on an isolated Naval base in Milton, Florida. The chaplain of the base allowed me to use a vacant building.
The ministry grew very quickly. I attribute the fast growth to the fact that there were no other ministries on the base and there were a lot of children who could not get into town, which was more than twenty-five miles away. I had plenty of help and my first ministry basically went unchallenged.
A little more than twenty years later the story changes. My ministry experience spans from the Tidewater area in Virginia to the country of Mexico and many places in between. I have learned lessons I did not know were necessary to a life of ministry.
The single most eye-opening discovery I have made is that many people enter ministry without a realistic idea of what awaits them.
Success In Ministry began in 1997 as an organization designed to be a link to resources, training, mentoring and fellowship, enabling the minister to complete their assignment from God successfully, according to God's perspective.
Our desire is for you to have a positive ministry experience balanced with the challenges we inevitably face in ministry.
Along with an opportunity to meet other ministers and build important relationships, Success In Ministry provides practical meetings and workshops on subjects that you will need in your ministry. For some ministries, opportunity for services will be provided to aid in your experience.

What Will Be Taught?
The things that ministers need to know is an endless list. While ministers do not need to know about everything, there are basics that everyone needs to begin their ministry and to remain steadfast regardless of their specific callings. These include but are not limited to:
·
· Ministry to the Family
·
· Ministry to the Local Church
·
· Ministry Administration
There are also subjects addressed that are specific to particular groups such as:
Other resources and workshops will be available to help the minister bridge the gap between the spiritual and practical side of their ministry. There will be help in identifying your ministry gift and the operation of these gifts.
